Up-and-coming artist Malaya Watson is a jack of all trades. At only age 18, Malaya has been on national television, featured in magazines, working on a record deal, and the list goes on and on. The multitalented, Malaya, was a finalist on season 13 of American Idol and has been growing in rapidly in popularity since she was 16 years old. Since the show, people have been excited to see her next moves, and NOiR is happy to inform you!
Malaya was recently featured in People Magazine, elaborating on her stunning performances in American Idol. She was a crowd favorite and loved in many homes across the country. Malaya also plays several instruments; the tuba, piano, violin, and guitar (just to name a few). She is an entrepreneur, working to start her own glasses brand. She tells NOiR that she is often stopped and asked about her vintage glasses from the 80’s and was motivated to create her own line so that people could have the opportunity to own a cool pair too. Because of her drive, talent, and passion, she's also on her way to participating in a reality TV show focused on female entrepreneurs. Although Malaya couldn’t reveal too much information on the show, she was able to tell us that more will be released soon and to stay tuned!
Watson continues to work on her craft everyday with long studio sessions and stays connected to some of the hottest producers in the game. She’s working with Quinton Denard, who is recognized for his grammy award winning engineering. “He’s worked with L J Reynolds, Aretha Franklin, & R Kelly” Malaya tells NOiR. She is excited and ready to show the world more of her talent, and Malaya, we’re ready for you too! Don't forget to keep your ears out for her new EP, My Diary, coming soon!
